With the plethora of pumkins on every corner you would think the world was spray painted orange during the month of October. Don’t get me wrong…I love orange. Its actually my favorite color and I have at least three rooms in my house painted some shade of the color.  I think it seamlessly crosses all seasons from beach-y, tropical citrus  to cozy, fall, pumpkin.

Pumpkin, chocolate, olive, and yellow are not the only colors to represent fall.

I hale from Mother Nature’s explosive kaleidoscope where raspberry, burgundy, teal, and harvest gold beckons those far and wide to heed her summons to the visual feast. The fall season is the only time I ache for home.

I have not experienced fall  in New England in more than twenty years but the scent of earth and hay rise from my skin. Memories of warm homemade blueberry pie tease my tongue. Playing hide and seek in the orchards amongst the Empires, Cortlands, and Honeycrisp.

The crunch of remembrance-like acorns underfoot.

The rituals of autumn inscribed in my bones.
