Mix it up/ the switcheroo

With today’s Home for the Holidays Challenge we are mixing things up.

When was the last time you rearranged your living room?  Not since the movers put it where you asked them to I bet.

Let’s change that and move things around, pull the sofa off the wall, if possible.  Its okay to pull your wall-hugging furniture from the wall and arrange it differently.

What if you swapped a couple of items from another room and put them in the living room?  Maybe swap a rug, art, lamp, or pillow from another room in the house?

The benefits of doing this are you don’t have to spend any money and you “shop” your own home…can’t beat that!

I recently had a client do this with a couple of pieces she didn’t really love in her living room.  We swapped the area rug from her living room with the one in her master bedroom along with a few lamps and……bam! Her Master bedroom came together so beautifully.  Now it only needs paint, art and some draperies!

The “new” area rug that is now in the living room gave her more of the feel she wanted in that space.

Rearranging your room or swapping items from another room is the quickest way to freshen and restyle a living space.
