Its like a spa in there!
You’re laughing more than you have in a long time. You’re stuffed and reminiscing with friends and after all the cocktails you find yourself in need of the rest room. Because if you laugh that hard one more time you just might pee your cute little skirt and sweater ensemble.
You go down the hall, use the fascilitites, admire the cute decor in the restroom and then go to dry your hands.
As you touch the towel hanging on the towel bar you cringe in disgust. The towel is sopping wet and its obvious everyone has been drying their hands on the same towel…eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww!
So disgusting. You don’t even want to think about the germs living on that thing!
This is my biggest pet peeve. I’m amazed how many times I have been in this situation in the shabbiest to the chicest of homes.
How to get your guest to exclaim…its like a spa in there upon exiting your powder room.
1. Choose a color signature color scheme for a set of washcloths that match your powder room decor.
2. Fold or roll the washcloths and place them in easy reach from the sink.
3. Another way to how to create a spa bathroom at home is to ditch the plastic branded container the soap came in for a nicer soap dispenser.
4. Have something to put the used washcloths in. A basket or another creative container is fine.
So guest don’t mistake the container for the trash can I always leave one or two washcloths in it so people know that is where to put the used washcloths.
5. Have a pretty scent in your powder room. A candle, reed diffusers, or potpourri are options.
The little silver bowl on my vanity has what I loathe to call potpourri but in essence its what it is. I have had a box of for years now. Its made by Slatkin + Co. in conjunction with Elton John. They are called Elton John Rocks #4 and it smells divine! Don’t know how they did it but all of the numbers have a different scent. The proceeds benefit John’s AIDS foundation.
6. Don’t forget your powder room when it comes to decorating for the holidays. You can put a wreath on the door, or add a small tree or branches (if you have the space) inside the bathroom.
Upon exiting my powder room, guest always exclaim, its like a spa in there!
Hope you picked up some great tips to create a spa like experience for your guest.
